NASCO held its annual Contract Security Washington Summit on June 12-14th, 2018. The D.C. centric event featured speeches and presentations from several members of Congress, officials from the FBI and DHS, executives from the U.S. Chamber, D.C. insiders, labor and employment experts, as well as executives from innovative companies serving the security market and the Federal Protective Service. It was a great blend of content and socializing for NASCO members and other invited industry members.

In February, the NASCO Board unanimously approved the membership application of SOS Security and welcomes SOS to its ranks. SOS Security is a leading provider of security personnel and related services, helping a broad range of clients in the corporate, government and high net worth sectors to protect their people, assets and reputations. It is the fifth largest security personnel company in the U.S.
NASCO held it's annual Contract Security Industry Leaders' Roundtable on February 6-8th, 2018. Fifty-four executive-level guests attended the event, representing twenty-seven contract security organizations, including sixteen current member companies. Presentations and discussions covered a variety of areas specifically affecting the contract security industry. Attendees and their guests enjoyed a lovely pool-side reception as well as a delicious dinner at a nearby beach-side restaurant.

On September 26, 2017 NASCO held it's 27th Annual Private Security Industry Breakfast at the ASIS Seminar in Dallas, TX. About 100 executives attended this event, representing nearly 30 of the largest security companies in the country as well as representatives from various state contract security associations , the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security.
The highlight of the morning was the presentation of the Colonel Minot B. Dotson Award to Don Walker, Chairman of Securitas U.S.A. This award is given in appreciation, recognition and commemoration of those security industry professionals who most personify the ideals, work ethics and pursuit of the industry’s aspirations which hallmarked Colonel Dodson’s career. Created in 2001 to honor the Colonel, a former Chairman of the NASCO Board, the award was established in recognition of Colonel Dodson’s tireless efforts on behalf of the security industry. Recipients must have been active participants in NASCO endeavors and show real leadership capabilities in the private security community. Beneficiaries of the award must have enhanced and aided NASCO in achieving its goals and objectives including promoting and sustaining professional integrity and competence throughout every aspect of the private security business.
